Friday Favorite: Can you tell me how to get to Sesame Street?

Sesame Street is one of my all time favorite TV shows! I am sure that it is yours too! I remember so many songs from when I was a kid. You know them too, ones like "sing a song", "has anybody seen my dog" (my mom and my aunt would sing this one anytime I was pouting, it drove me crazy!), "people in your neighborhood", "ladybug picnic", "rubber ducky", or how about this one...1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 doo doo doo doo doo doo do! I also like the one sung by a blue rock star puppet with long yellow hair, he sings about all different things that are alive and things that are not alive. I sing that song all the time. There is also the song sang by the pigs "I've got a new way to walk, walk walk". I sing that all the time too! I think the music was my favorite part of Sesame Street. However when I was little I didn't ever call it Sesame Street, I always called it Big Bird. I remember watching it at my Mema's house and thinking that it was the longest show in the world! It was like it never went off.

Now Nora watches Sesame Street most mornings and she loves it! We even have a CD with some of the old music on it. LOVE THAT! But this week has been different! Sesame Street has done another update! They have redone their theme song opener and they have some cute new puppets! I love that they do update from time to time but they always keep some of the old mixed in. They are just too cool for school!

Thanks for stopping by my blog.

Don't be so hard on yourself, your daughter is still young. I didn't really go into to much but it wasn't easy getting my daughter to want to do her work either. My other daughter is the same way....a lot of groaning and they are both a lot older than three-LOL!

Try doing some hands on activities, maybe have her make the letters with pretzels or get some chalk and have her write her letters on the sidewalk, make it FUN!

I know this isn't the answer all the time and trust me, it won't always work, but try reverse psychology in a gentle way when it come to the worksheets...."Oh, i don't know if tou can draw a line from the big *A* to the little *a*...can you?"

My DC are competative, so they like a challenge, they take after ummmm....(ahem) me;)

It's a GREAT feeling when YOU have taught your daughter something and she comprehends it!

Don't you love Sesame Street? I love Abby Kadabby. But I have to admit I was a little sorry to not have Elmo's World the other day! ;)

Ah...there is nothing like a good old Sesame Street episode! Wish I had a 3 yr old excuse to watch it! Just kidding!
